Markl sat in the freezing cold fireplace room wrapped in a blanket. Calcifer had left to celebrate being free at last. Howl and Calcifer figured out how to maintain the castle while Calcifer was out, but without him things tended to get a little cold. Calcifer had been gone for two days now, and Markl was getting tired of burnning his fingers making fire himself, on top of it all Sophie was not down yet to make breakfast. Most of the time she was the first in the house to wake, then it was the witch but she hadn't been around lately, Howl was mostly the last to wake since the first thing he did when he Chapter 1
